The first night in Boston we spent about an hour and about 15 miles of driving to find a suitable place to ditch the van and take the subway. When we finally did, we went out to eat and then just walked around the city for a few hours until we had to catch the last train. On Thursday, We spent the day at the museum of science. That's when the rain started that didn't stop until we left Newport, R.I. We decided to check out some Boston night life. Justin and Reilly went to see Robby Krieger play while Matt and I milled from pub to pub. We left when we woke up and made it to a really nice beach and then up to Newport. We found out about Newport when we stopped at a gas station. We all went in and filled up our ramen noodle cups with their hot water. When I went back in to get a pop, I heard one lady say " I think they're in a band." I explained our situation and she told us about the pride of Rhode Island, where the Kennedy's had a mansion and where supposedly JFK married Jackie O. Nonetheless it was impressive, Justin, Matt and I took a three hour walk along the shore cliffs and back through the neighborhoods. These neighborhoods, though, had the biggest mansions I have ever seen. Most were from 1900 or earlier and had been made into little museums of the families who owned them. We are now caught in traffic to Sean's having missed our split. Riding the subway in Boston Downtown Some big crazy kinetic sculpture at the Boston Museum of Science The Beach in Rhode Island
