We spent the whole day driving to Crater Lake.  I thought we ran out of gas and had to hitch back to the last town and back.  It turned out we still had 2 gallons of gas.  I don't understand why it sputtered out.  Most of the drive was going up so it got colder every little bit.  By the top there was 3 feet of snow and the roads were all ice.  We came back down and camped at a site that was supposed to be closed.   We made a fire and all but Justin slept in the van, he slept by the fire.  We were half teasing him about bears attacking him but obviously nothing happened.  We went back up to the lake and saw it in the daylight.  It looked really cool with all the snow.  The lady at the gift shop said it was a light year for snow, usually they would have had 7 feet.  Next stop was California.
