Kho Pha Ngan

Jet Lag is for sissies.  We traveled (bus, train, ferry, airplane, waiting for trips) for 36 hours with only a Thai boxing match for break it all up, not to mention traveling through twelve time zones to the back of the planet from home.  We took full advantage of the free beverages on the plane to help facilitate the 19 hour flight.  But.. after 4 flights, 3 buses, and 1 ferry, we finally arrived in paradise.  Koh Pha Ngan is an island in the gulf of Thailand near Koh Samui.  Bright white sandy beaches, turquoise water, and coconut trees all over.  We're staying in a little 1 room bungalow right on the beach.  They have little motorbikes for rent and we have been getting our full moneys worth out those things. We hiked up in to the rainforest parts of the island, did some rock climbing, and snorkeled over a coral reef.  We had to take those little motorbikes over some really tough terrain to get to the really secluded beaches.  We all had our turn crashing them and flying off, but with no real injuries, save for a few nasty muffler burns, it was well worth the adventure.  I definitely have to mention the full moon party they have here on one of the beaches.  The moon rises right up off the ocean and everyone stays up partying and dancing until the sun rises.  People came over from Koh Samui so there were 14000 people going nuts until the sun rose, when everyone just stopped to watch the sun rise and kept on partying until noon. Matt and I couldn't make it past seven but Ryan managed to keep up the energy until the end.  Now we are just chilling on the porch of our bungalow, recovering from a long night and staying out of the near equatorial sun.
